Cone Beam CT Scan | 3D Imaging

The Cone Beam CT Scanner provides our practice with state-of-the-art technology to help Drs. Schwartz and Zoller diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. Unlike a traditional spiral CT scanner, this 3D system utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation.

Our 3D system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits. The cone beam allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern.

This technology allows Summit Dental Partners to provide unmatched visualization of anatomical detail which aids in diagnosis and treatment planning. Drs. Schwartz and Zoller can use this innovative technology to quickly and easily share 3D images of the area of concern with your referring doctor – allowing the doctors to collaborate on your care, improving your experience, and delivering a positive treatment outcome.

iTero Digital Scanner

The revolutionary iTero Intraoral Scanner is a digital scanner that greatly enhances the accuracy of dental impressions. Before digital imaging, patients needing impressions to fit a dental restoration had to endure bulky trays of thick impression gel. Taking conventional impressions, or molds, was an uncomfortable and frustrating process that sometimes produced flawed results and necessitated a second round of impressions. The new iTero scanning technique is beneficial to both the dentist and patient by producing fast, virtually perfect results.

iTero replaces the unpleasant taste, salivation, and gagging associated with traditional impression-taking methods. No goop, no gag, no mess! By using a hand-held wand to optically scan the area to be restored, your entire impression is created 100% digitally. The impression is then electronically transmitted to a remote CAD/CAM facility where the laboratory models are precisely milled. Next, the models are returned to our local dental laboratory where your custom restoration is fabricated.

The patented 3-D digital technology enables us to create restorations with unmatched precision and accuracy. This translates to superior restorations that look and feel like natural teeth.

Digital Imaging

Drs. Schwartz and Zoller carefully choose when radiographs are taken and what type of radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Drs. Schwartz and Zoller utilize Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs.

Digital imaging allows us to store patient images and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.

Precision Dentistry

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Drs. Schwartz, Zoller, and their team utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality of your dental care.

Our practice uses high-power microscopes to enhance the precision of patient care.

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using a microscope that is similar to the one an ophthalmologist uses enables us to create dental restorations with an incredibly precise fit and finish. You just can’t fulfill that level of care with the naked eye.

In addition to allowing precise, close-up work, the microscope directs a beam of light directly on the teeth, minimizing glare for you.

Intraoral Camera

Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with high-tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.

Drs. Schwartz and Zoller utilize Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera – in some cases, just a few millimeters long. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth, and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This can mean faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you!

Intraoral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer to provide a permanent record of treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, and for your lab or insurance companies.
